La Escuela Normal Superior del Alto Sinú se auto reconoce como un organismo vivo productor de conocimientos y saber pedagógico. 

La institución orienta su norte para ayudar a lograr los propósitos de la visión y la misión institucional desde los siguientes principios:

  • Ética: Llevar a la persona al pleno desarrollo humano, dispuesto a brindar lo mejor de sí, con integridad y humildad, promoviendo una convivencia justa y digna en la sociedad. Se debe contar con ética para autorregularse y actuar responsablemente en cualquier contexto.

Se asume como principio de formación la ética ciudadana, orientada a la construcción de la sociedad civil desde los principios de la democracia participativa y la convivencia ciudadana desde pretensiones de validez que posibiliten una ética comunicativa. 

  •  Autonomía: Desarrollar en el educando la capacidad de emancipación para la autodeterminación, dejando de reproducir el consumismo como elemento de dominación para darle voz al contexto desde las potencialidades personales del maestro en proceso formativo. Lo anterior, posibilitará la autonomía moral necesaria en la toma de decisiones, al asumir la responsabilidad consigo mismo, con los otros y con el medio que le rodea para llegar al auténtico reconocimiento y respeto por el reconocimiento del otro, las diferencias de género, de raza, de comunidad y de nación.
  • Liderazgo pedagógico: Liderar procesos desde la investigación acción educativa y pedagógica para incidir positiva y críticamente en el desarrollo social de la región. Se busca una persona que promueve espacios para el reconocimiento de las necesidades del entorno, a través de la conformación de semilleros y grupos de investigación, además, grupos de tertulias, observatorios de tipo social, y reconocimiento de las oportunidades de mejoramiento que presenta el entorno de la escuela, para que haga de la enseñanza el acto fundamental de su oficio.
  • Creatividad: Ejercitar en el educando el desarrollo pedagógico y didáctico, para que pueda innovar a partir de su práctica en el aula y reconocer el arte como dinamizador de sentimientos, experiencias y emociones que desarrollan la sensibilidad, la estética, el pensamiento crítico y expresiones simbólicas en diferentes contextos interculturales.
  • Pluralismo: Reconocer el valor del disenso y el consenso democrático, garantizando la participación consciente, responsable y libre en la elección de líderes y propuestas que mejoren la convivencia.
  • Interculturalidad: Formar personas con base a la comprensión de la diversidad cultural presente en la región del Alto Sinú, fomentando valores y mejorando la comunicación igualitaria entre los individuos, apuntando a la reconstrucción de una sociedad democrática y bilingüe para fortalecer la toma de decisiones y la investigación, integrando así saberes ancestrales y modernos.
  • Eco-humanista: Orientar el desarrollo sostenible desde la praxis ambiental y cada uno de los principios de la agroecología que promueve la vida como valor fundamental. 
  • Ecológico: Adquirir conciencia para la conservación, protección y mejoramiento del medio ambiente y la calidad de vida.
  • Igualdad: Formar personas que reconocen las diferencias pero que al mismo tiempo sostienen que ellas no pueden ser soporte para ningún tipo de discriminación. Por tanto, se asume a la igualdad como una misma condición y posición de los ciudadanos ante la aplicación de reglamentos y manuales de la institución en pro de la garantía de derechos.
  • Social: Desarrollar en el educando la capacidad crítica y reflexiva que fortalezca el avance material e intelectual de la comunidad educativa para incidir en la transformación cultural

Principios Específicos del Programa de Formación Complementaria: PFC.

  • Pertinencia: Formar educadores que respondan a las necesidades educativas del contexto, especialmente en los niveles de primera infancia, preescolar y básica primaria.
  • Aprendizaje problémico: Desarrollar aprendizajes contextualizados desde la problematización de la realidad en los educadores en formación para que fortalezcan competencias que favorezcan la solución de problemas específicos.
  • Autoaprendizaje: Orientar al educando para que modifique esquemas conceptuales, partiendo de la realidad contextual para que se impulse a ir más allá, desarrollando todo su potencial de aprendizaje.
  • Aprendizaje colaborativo: Promover la construcción de aprendizajes significativos como resultado de la interacción entre individuos, abordando nuevas tendencias pedagógicas que exige la sociedad del conocimiento.
